Dis-chord
I have been playing alot of guitar of late.
everything from Mellencamp to Metallica. And it is really nice to get back into the groove of things...but something happened about two weeks ago that really was amazing.
I have begun to play guitar for Home Group (a gathering of people from church, a small group service so to speak) on Wednesdays (no this isn't what is amazing). So one of the musicians at church heard that I was playing, and out of the blue asked if I would like to get together and Jam...he happens to be the musician that I have been Dying to get lessons from...so I was Seriously taken aback...in the words of a good friend: 'You're moving in the Spirit now m'boy...hold on tight'.
So on Saturday was the first session, it was AMAZING. We started without even touching the guitars, just played Loads of rhythm on the jembes (traditional drums) and tamborines...was awesome.
And when we did pick up the guitars I learned more in half an hour than i did in the whole of the last year. wow.
He invited me to Band practice on tuesday. Which was So difficult!! I never thought playing with people would be so challenging!
But it does stretch me, so it is a good thing :) And by the next lesson / jam I should be Leagues better than I am now :)

*Ahem* Here's rhythm for you:
Tick, tock, tick, tock...
(Sorry other readers. It's a private joke.)
I've always wanted to play some musical instrument... tried learning guitar once... you don't wanna kno! I've actually got my heart set on playing drums. I've got excellent rhythm but no sense of tone;-). At this stage life is just a little hectic, but one day...
